“Damask Rose” is a heart-aching feature film exploring the transformative power of self-discovery. Set in South Australia’s remote and urban landscapes, we follow Maya, an Indigenous woman from Maralinga, and Juri, a Syrian refugee on the run from Australian authorities. The two embark on a collective journey where they find that cultural and language barriers hold no power over the human connection as they find solidarity through their haunting pasts and intertwined traumas.
